Ireland
Ireland is the home of myths, legends and plenty of glorious scenery. How about a circular tour of Killarney and the Ring of Kerry, the mystical unspoilt region, to reveal constantly changing vistas of mountains, beaches and cliffs. See the Killarney National Park and enjoy a trip on a “jaunting car” round the world-renowned Muckross House and gardens to visit the dramatic falls of the Torc waterfall and the lake. Enjoy the craic at a traditional Irish Night – we can arrange everything including dinner, costumed dancers, and musicians playing fiddles, tinwhistles and the bodrhan. Learn of Ireland's ancient heritage, treachery and folklore with a tour of the Waterford Crystal Factory. Opened in 1783, each piece of crystal is still handmade – watch the skilled craftsmen blow, form and cut crystal into tableware and trophies. At nearby Cobh, visit the fascinating museum telling the story of Irish immigrants who set off from this port in the ill-fated Titanic to esape the starvation of the potato famine. Get the "gift of the gab" by kissing the Blarney Stone high up on the battlements of Blarney Castle, and travel via Limerick to the medieval castle of Bunratty, where you can discover traditional lifestyles and crafts. See the rugged landscape of Connemara with its wonderland of rivers, lakes and hills, or the glorious scenery on the Dingle Peninsula, sprinkled with fishing villages and beehive huts where early Christian monks lived in isolation. Travel through the Burren to see the spectacular Cliffs of Moher or enjoy a whiskey in the famous Matt Malloy Pub in Westport.
Further north, take in the magnificent coastal stretch of the Antrim Coast Road, and the World Heritage Site of the Giant's Causeway, famous for its unique coastline. Or take the Atlantic Drive, through soaring peaks and clifftop views passing through the quaint picturesque villages of Dunfunaghy, Falcarragh, Bloody Foreland, Bunbegs and Crolly, then cross the bridge from the mainland to explore the spectacular scenery of Achill Island.
As for the towns, enjoy the Irish hospitality and Georgian architecture in Dublin, with a sightseeing tour incorporating the Old Jameson Distillery and the Guinness Storehouse for a taste of the legendary drink, check out the arts and crafts in Temple Bar, stroll along the River Liffey, absorb literary history at Trinity College or pose for photos next to Molly Malone’s statue.
