Antiques Trails
Whether a serious collector or an enthusiastic amateur, we have a huge range of antiques trails to follow, all in historic towns and cities, where passengers can combine browsing and sightseeing.
During the famous Lille Braderie, the whole town is transformed into a giant flea market as the Lillois empty out their attics onto the streets in a tradition that dates back to the middle ages. Enjoy the lively bustling market in the Place du Jeu de Balles in Brussels, and unearth all manner of bric-a-brac from glassware to stuffed birds. Browse the packed stalls of the fashionable market in the Place du Grand Sablon; antiques heaven and one of Europe’s best. Or work your way through the tumbled array of dealers' stalls in Zand Square in Bruges, filled with antiques, paintings, ornaments, furniture and treasures of every description.
Interested in glassware, pottery, coins, toys, books, dolls? You name it, they’ll have it at the Jaarbeurs, a huge annual International Collectors' Fair held in beautiful Utrecht. And in Paris, our top two are Clignancourt: look out for retro style such as 50s soda siphons, glassware and china; and Vanves: smaller and lesser known, but a favourite of French and American aficionados – garage sale meets traditional dealers.
